Shai Hope is the captain of the West Indies\u2019 ODI team, and on Tuesday (August 12) he entered his name in the history books by equalling Brian Lara\u2019s record of most centuries in ODIs as captain of the West Indies. Hope, who is leading the West Indies in the third ODI against Pakistan on Tuesday at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, completed his 18th ODI century in 83 balls.<\/p>\n

He has scored five centuries in the 50-over format of the game as the skipper of the two-time ODI World Cup winners.<\/p>\n

During his 17-year-long ODI career, Lara played 125 ODIs as captain of the West Indies and scored five centuries, whereas Hope has scored five centuries in just 38 matches as captain.<\/p>\n

Hope faced a total of 94 balls for the Men in Maroon on Tuesday at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba and, with the help of 10 fours and 5 sixes, scored 120 runs. His super show with the bat helped the hosts post a total of 294\/6 in the series decider after Mohammad Rizwan invited them to bat first.<\/p>\n

Hope added 110 runs in just 49 balls for the seventh wicket with Justin Greaves, who made 43 runs from 24 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.<\/p>\n
