Sensex Today: <\/strong>Indian equities traded flat on Monday amid mixed global cues, with stock-specific moves dominating as investors digested Q1 earnings released after market hours on Friday and over the weekend. Tata Motors and State Bank of India (SBI) remained in focus following their quarterly results.<\/p>\n

The BSE Sensex was at 79,835.55, down 22.24 points or 0.03 per cent, while the Nifty50 inched up 11 points or 0.04 per cent to 24,373.95.<\/p>\n

Among Sensex gainers were SBI, Trent, and NTPC, while Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, and Adani Ports led the losers\u2019 list.<\/p>\n

In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap index slipped 0.03 per cent, and the SmallCap index declined 0.26 per cent.<\/p>\n

On the sectoral front, Nifty Auto rose 0.23 per cent, and Nifty PSU Bank gained 0.76 per cent, while Nifty Media edged down 0.21 per cent.<\/p>\n

Global Cues<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In Asia, sentiment was tepid as traders awaited clarity on whether the August 12 deadline for the US-China tariff truce will be extended. Additionally, attention is on the planned meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday to discuss the Ukraine conflict.<\/p>\n

As of the last check, China\u2019s CSI300 was up 0.3%, Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng slipped 0.02%, Australia\u2019s ASX 200 rose 0.31%, and South Korea\u2019s KOSPI edged 0.04% higher. Japanese markets remained shut for a holiday.<\/p>\n

On Wall Street, the Nasdaq Composite closed at fresh record highs last week, while the S&P 500 hovered near another milestone. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.47%, the Nasdaq advanced 0.98%, and the S&P 500 added 0.78% on Friday.<\/p>\n
