Indian batter Rajat Patidar recently dealt with a situation that involved a couple of cricket fans in Chhattisgarh and the local police. The involvement of the cops might make it sound serious, but it\u2019s nothing of that sort.<\/p>\n

The story revolves around Patidar\u2019s old mobile number, which was deactivated by the telecom company for being inactive for over 90 days. It was reassigned to a boy named Manish in Chhattisgarh\u2019s Gariaband district, leading to hilarious events.<\/p>\n

According to NDTV, Manish bought a new Reliance Jio SIM from a local mobile shop on June 28, but what unfolded next was a little surprising. After the mobile number was activated, WhatsApp loaded Patidar\u2019s photo as the profile picture. Manish and his friend, Khemraj, didn\u2019t pay heed to it, but they had simply landed on the VIP contact list of India\u2019s cricketing fraternity.<\/p>\n

Now Manish\u2019s phone started ringing, and the callers were cricketing legends. The report stated that even Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers called up on the number. But Manish and Khemraj still took it humorously, until Patidar called up himself and explained the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cBhai, I\u2019m Rajat Patidar. That number is mine, please return it,” the cricketer, as per NDTV, said on the call.<\/p>\n

What happened next was more comic. Manish and Khemraj didn\u2019t believe that it was Patidar on the line as they replied, \u201cAnd we\u2019re MS Dhoni.”<\/p>\n

Patidar had no option but to explain the entire matter. He said the number was important, connecting him with his coaches, friends, and others. However, these two were not ready to buy the story. That\u2019s when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper said, \u201cOkay, I\u2019ll send the cops.”<\/p>\n

The local police were at Manish\u2019s doorstep within 10 minutes, and then he realised that whatever happened wasn\u2019t a joke. Thus, they ended up speaking to Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, but never had the idea.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got to speak to Kohli because of a wrong number. My life\u2019s goal is complete,” Khemraj was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n

Both friends returned the SIM card without hesitation.<\/p>\n
