Ahead of the first T20I against South Africa, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is poised to join an elite group of players with over 2,500 runs and 50 or more wickets in T20I cricket.<\/p>\n

The white-ball series between Australia and South Africa, consisting of three T20Is and ODIs each, will commence on Sunday. Maxwell needs just four more wickets to reach the milestone of 50 wickets in T20Is.<\/p>\n

Achieving this feat will make him only the fourth player in the format\u2019s history to have over 2,500 runs and 50 or more wickets, alongside Bangladesh\u2019s Shakib Al Hasan (2,551 runs and 149 wickets in 129 matches), Pakistan\u2019s Mohammed Hafeez (2,514 runs and 61 wickets in 119 matches), and Malaysia\u2019s Virandeep Singh (3,013 runs and 97 wickets in 102 matches).<\/p>\n

This year, in five T20Is, Maxwell has scored 90 runs at an average of 18.00 and a strike rate exceeding 195, with a best score of 47, and has taken three wickets at an average of 21.00, with best figures of 2\/15.<\/p>\n
