McGrath has predicted a 5-0 win for Australia in the Ashes<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Former England pacer Stuart Broad came up with a hilarious response to Glenn McGrath\u2019s 5-0 prediction in Australia\u2019s favour for the 2025-26 Ashes, urging the latter to wait on such a drastic scoreline with almost four months to go for the coveted tournament to begin.<\/p>\n

Ben Stokes\u2019 England couldn\u2019t overcome a transitional Indian team, with the five-match series ending in a 2-2 draw, which might have led McGrath to predict that Australia hold the clear upper hand in the Ashes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

England last beat Australia on their home turf during the 2010-11 Ashes and have struggled in subsequent tours Down Under. It was the last time they won a Test in the nation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very rare for me to make a prediction, isn\u2019t it? And I can\u2019t make a different one, 5-0. I\u2019m very confident with our team. When you\u2019ve got Pat Cummins, Mitchell <\/span>Starc<\/span>, Josh <\/span>Hazlewood<\/span> and Nathan Lyon firing in their home conditions, it\u2019s going to be pretty tough,” McGrath said while speaking on\u00a0BBC.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPlus, that track record England have had, it\u2019d be interesting to see if they can win a Test. <\/span>I love seeing sportspeople go out there and play without fear,” McGrath added, lauding England coach Brendon McCullum\u2019s philosophy but requesting \u201ca bit more accountability and the mental side of the game.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Responding to the former Australian pacer\u2019s prediction, Broad quipped that he could have at least waited until England arrived Down Under before making such a forecast.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s August!! At least let us land, Glenn,” Broad tweeted on Friday afternoon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2025 Men\u2019s Ashes will be held across five venues: Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney.\u00a0<\/span>The series will end with the fifth Test at the SCG, starting on January 4 in 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Broad will join the commentary panel for the Ashes, offering his insights as part of the Seven Network\u2019s coverage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Australia won 4-0 in 2021-22 and have lost only two of their last 15 home Tests.<\/p>\n
