Under Regulation (EU) *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>\/*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>, Bangladesh is entitled to a three-year transition under the EU\u2019s Everything But Arms (EBA) arrangement after it ceases to qualify as a least developed country (LDC). If graduation proceeds as scheduled on November *<\/span>*<\/span>, *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>, EBA preferences would continue until approximately the end of *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>. If the UN General Assembly approves Bangladesh\u2019s request to extend its preparatory period to November *<\/span>*<\/span>, *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>, the EBA transition would instead run until approximately the end of *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>. As of October *<\/span>*<\/span>, *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>, the requested extension had not been approved.<\/p>\n

Rules of origin matter as much as tariffs. Many garments made in Bangladesh using imported fabric currently qualify for EBA preferences, but future eligibility will depend on the applicable product-specific rules and the preference scheme in force. US buyers must also distinguish Section *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span> duties from reciprocal tariffs. Any proposed relief linked to US inputs would be subject to limited tariff-rate quotas, not automatically available to all apparel made using US cotton.<\/p>\n
