German sportswear brand Adidas has raised its full-year 2026 profitability outlook after preliminary third-quarter (Q3) performance reflected robust brand momentum, healthy full-price sales and record quarterly top- and bottom-line results. The group also plans to reinvest part of the improved profitability in initiatives intended to create greater operating leverage over the medium term.<\/p>\n

The company now expects currency-neutral revenue growth of 9-10 per cent for 2026 and operating profit of around \u20ac2.5 billion (~$2.81 billion, as per conversion rate of $1 = \u20ac0.8908 as on October 21, 2026), compared with its previous outlook of around \u20ac2.3 billion (~$2.58 billion). The revised outlook incorporates higher profitability from growth and a US tariff refund, partly offset by planned fourth-quarter investment.<\/p>\n

Adidas raised its 2026 operating profit outlook to \u20ac2.5 billion (~$2.81 billion) after record Q3 results.
\nRevenue rose 9 per cent to \u20ac7.252 billion (~$8.14 billion), while operating profit climbed 37 per cent to \u20ac1.008 billion (~$1.13 billion).

For the third quarter ended September 2026, revenue increased 9 per cent year on year (YoY) to a record \u20ac7.252 billion (~$8.14 billion), or 7 per cent in currency-neutral terms. Operating profit rose 37 per cent to a record \u20ac1.008 billion (~$1.13 billion), while gross margin improved by 2.5 percentage points to 54.3 per cent.<\/p>\n

\tTariff refund and full-price sales support margins<\/h3>\n

During the quarter, Adidas received the majority of its US tariff claims and recorded a related refund of around \u20ac200 million (~$224.53 million). The refund contributed to the gross-margin improvement alongside healthy full-price sales, although unfavourable currency movements weighed on margin performance, Adidas said in a press release.<\/p>\n

The company said its marketing investment had strengthened brand appeal globally, while innovation supported profitable growth in football, running and training. New apparel collections were also in high demand and supported its lifestyle business. However, Adidas said the footwear lifestyle market remained challenging due to excess inventory and discounting across the marketplace.<\/p>\n

Before the planned investment, Adidas expected operating profit to reach \u20ac2.6 billion (~$2.92 billion) in 2026, reflecting approximately \u20ac100 million (~$112.26 million) of additional profitability from growth and the tariff refund. The company plans to reinvest around \u20ac100 million (~$112.26 million) in the fourth quarter to support future operating leverage and its mid-term profitability targets, added the release.<\/p>\n
