The decline was sharper than that of Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia, although China recorded an even larger fall. The data suggest that tariff differences alone do not explain the divergence in supplier performance.<\/p>\n<h3>\t<strong>US apparel trade data reveal a major shift in supplier performance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Total US apparel imports fell roughly <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> per cent to about $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion in January\u2013July <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>. Vietnam retained its lead at about $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion, while Bangladesh reached $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion, narrowly ahead of China at $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion.
