24-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel will captain the Central Zone team in the 2025 edition of the Duleep Trophy, which is set to be played from August 28 to September 11 in Bengaluru.<\/p>\n

According to several media reports, Jurel, who has played five Tests for India so far and won all, will captain the team that includes the likes of Rajat Patidar, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Harsh Dubey, Khaleel Ahmed and Saransh Jain, among others.<\/p>\n

In the Duleep Trophy 2025, Central Zone will open their campaign on August 28 against North East Zone in the second quarterfinal match at BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground B in Bengaluru.<\/p>\n

Jurel played in the Duleep Trophy last year for India A.<\/p>\n

In the second innings of the Duleep Trophy 2025 match played between India A and India B at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Jurel completed seven catches, and it helped him equal MS Dhoni\u2019s record for the most catches by a wicketkeeper in an inning.<\/p>\n

During the 2004-05 Duleep Trophy match between East Zone and Central Zone, Dhoni also completed seven catches in an innings.<\/p>\n

Before Dhoni, the record was held by Sunil Benjamin, who accounted for six catches and one stumping while playing for Central Zone against North Zone in the 1973 final.<\/p>\n

Central Zone squad:<\/strong> Dhruv Jurel (C & WK), Rajat Patidar*, Aryan Juyal, Danish Malewar, Sanchit Desai, Kuldeep Yadav, Aditya Thakare, Deepak Chahar, Saransh Jain, Ayush Pandey, Shubham Sharma, Yash Rathod, Harsh Dubey, Manav Suthar, Khaleel Ahmed<\/p>\n

Standbys:<\/strong> Madhav Kaushik, Yash Thakur, Yuvraj Chaudhary, Mahipal Lomror, Kuldeep Sen, Upendra Yadav.<\/p>\n

Gill to captain North Zone<\/strong><\/p>\n

India\u2019s Test captain Shubman Gill will also play in the Duleep Trophy 2025, and the right-handed batter from Punjab will lead the North Zone. Apart from Gill, Anshul Kamboj, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are also picked in the North Zone\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n

In the Duleep Trophy 2025, North Zone will open their campaign on August 28 in Bengaluru against the Ishan Kishan-led East Zone team, and the winner will then qualify for the semifinal.<\/p>\n

North Zone squad:<\/strong>\u00a0Shubman Gill (C), Shubham Khajuria, Ankit Kumar (VC), Ayush Badoni, Yash Dhull, Ankit Kalsi, Nishant Sindhu, Sahil Lotra, Mayank Dagar, Yudhvir Singh Charak, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Anshul Kamboj, Auqib Nabi, Kanhaiya Wadhawan (WK).<\/p>\n

Replacements:<\/strong>\u00a0Shubham Rohilla to replace Shubman Gill, Gurnoor Brar to replace Arshdeep Singh and Anuj Thakral will replace Harshit Rana in case they are picked for Asia Cup 2025.<\/p>\n
