Bangladesh exported approximately $*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> billion of ready-made garments in July, down from $*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> billion a year earlier. The sector still generated roughly *<\/span>*<\/span>.*<\/span> per cent of the country*<\/span>*<\/span>;s $*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> billion merchandise exports, which slipped *<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> per cent year on year but reached a *<\/span>*<\/span>-month high.<\/p>\n

The shift from June*<\/span>*<\/span>;s *<\/span>*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> per cent growth to July*<\/span>*<\/span>;s *<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> per cent contraction equals a *<\/span>*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span>-percentage-point swing. Yet the two comparisons were unusually distorted in opposite directions.<\/p>\n

June *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span> included a ten-day Eid-ul-Adha holiday, depressing RMG exports to $*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> billion. June *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>;s $*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> billion result therefore reflected a return to a normal monthly range rather than a structural demand breakthrough, according to BGMEA. July faced a tougher base: July *<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span>*<\/span> exports had jumped *<\/span>*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> per cent to $*<\/span>.*<\/span>*<\/span> billion.<\/p>\n
