The programme will allow members to earn Elevate Points on eligible flight bookings and ancillary purchases, with benefits linked to their membership tier.

Akasa Air, which began operations in August 2022, said it has carried nearly 29 million passengers so far. The airline currently flies to 29 domestic and seven international destinations and has a fleet of 40 aircraft.

How Akasa Elevate works

Akasa Elevate has four membership tiers. Members can qualify for higher tiers based on eligible flights or qualifying spending.

Points can be earned on eligible flight bookings and ancillary products and services. The programme also provides tier-linked benefits covering areas such as priority services, baggage, seats, meals and travel flexibility.

The benefits increase at higher membership levels, with premium-tier members also eligible for dedicated customer support and other airport services.

Passengers can claim points for past travel

Akasa Air has introduced a limited-period Retro Claim facility under which passengers who travelled with the airline from April 1, 2026, can join the programme and claim Elevate Points for eligible past travel.

Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Akasa Air Founder and CEO Vinay Dube said the facility currently covers travel dating back to the beginning of the financial year.

“To begin with, you can have retro claims dating back all the way to the start of our fiscal year, which is April 1, 2026,” Dube said.

What do top-tier members get?

The highest tier of Akasa Elevate will include additional flexibility for frequent flyers. Dube said these members will be eligible for no change fees, additional baggage allowance and the option to move to an earlier flight without change charges.

The airline also plans to provide more personalised assistance to customers in the top tier.

“And I think overriding all of that is the very personalised care that we will provide for our most loyal customers.
