The index said India’s composite score rose to 45.1, its highest in five years. India is ranked below Namibia, which placed 124th, and above Azerbaijan, which was ranked 126th.<\/p>\n
\nThe Global Passport Index evaluates passports across three key pillars \u2014 Enhanced Mobility (50%), Investment (25%) and Quality of Life (25%). The assessment is based on 14 indicators using data from organisations including the World Bank, the World Economic Forum and the Sustainable Development Report.
Nine of the top 10 positions in the Global Passport Index 2026 were occupied by European countries. Sweden topped the rankings, while Singapore was the only non-European country in the top 10.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to the index, Indian passport holders continue to have access to a number of destinations through visa-free, visa-on-arrival and eVisa arrangements. However, travel to many developed countries generally requires obtaining a visa in advance.<\/p>\n
