Total US imports fell to $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion in Q<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> from $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion a year earlier, while African exports increased by <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> per cent. This allowed Africa to expand its share despite weaker demand in the broader market.<\/p>\n<p>Africa\u2019s progress has been gradual over the past few years. The region accounted for <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> per cent of US apparel imports in <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>, with exports of $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion. Its share remained almost unchanged at <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> per cent in <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>, when exports rose to $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion. In <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>, exports increased further to $<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> billion, lifting market share to <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>.<span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span> per cent before the record breakthrough in early <span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span><span class=\"startxt\">*<\/span>, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fibre2fashion.com\/market-intelligence\/texpro-textile-and-apparel\/\" target=\"_blank\">TexPro<\/a><\/strong> data showed.<\/p>\n<p>The region continues to benefit from preferential access under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), while global brands increasingly diversify sourcing beyond traditional Asian manufacturing hubs.
