As part of Star Alliance, members also get access to a range of global benefits across the alliance\u2019s international network.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, Air India<\/a> officially launched a new \u2018Basic\u2019 fare category<\/a> for domestic economy travellers to provide a cheaper ticket alternative.<\/p>\n This newly introduced option strips away complimentary in-flight meals in exchange for a lower ticket price, shaving off approximately \u20b9 500 to \u20b9 600 per journey. It still includes a 15 kg checked baggage allowance, 7 kg cabin baggage allowance, and complimentary tea or coffee onboard.<\/p>\n The fare is running as a pilot project on select short-haul domestic sectors like Delhi\u2013Chandigarh, Delhi\u2013Amritsar and Bengaluru\u2013Hyderabad.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
