The airline has introduced lie-flat bunk-style beds on routes between New York and Auckland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The pods, known as Skynest, will allow passengers in economy class to rest in lie-flat beds without upgrading to business class. Skynest consists of six sleeping pods arranged in a bunk-bed layout, installed between the economy and premium economy cabins on Boeing 787-9 aircraft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Each pod comes equipped with a mattress, pillow, blanket, privacy curtains, ambient lights and USB charging ports. In addition to this, passengers will be given a \u2018nestcessities\u2019 kit which includes earplugs, an eye mask, socks and Aoeta skincare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>ALSO READ<\/strong> | <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbctv18.com\/travel\/pets-are-now-planning-the-trip-in-india-booking-com-travel-news-ws-l-19885029.htm\">Pets are now planning the trip in India<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Each nest is around 203cm (6.6 feet\/80 inches) in length, and the width at the shoulder is around 64cm (25 inches), tapering to around 41cm (16 inches) at the feet, according to the website.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><b>Skynest duration<\/b><b\/><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Passengers can book a pod for a four-hour session to lie flat and sleep during long journeys that can stretch beyond 17-18 hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Only one person is allowed per pod, and sharing or \u2018double-bunking\u2019 is strictly prohibited. Eating inside the pods or bringing children along is also not allowed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">You don\u2019t need to set an alarm for your 4-hour sleep time. When your time is over, the lights inside the pod automatically turn on to wake you up. If you\u2019re still sleeping, a crew member will gently wake you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After you leave, the crew takes about 30 minutes to clean and reset the pod. They will change the bedsheets, pillow covers, and prepare it for the next passenger.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><b>Skynest price<\/b><b\/><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Skynest is an add-on service, meaning passengers still need to purchase a regular economy ticket. Pods are expected to cost around $495 (around \u20b947,000) per session. Top and middle nests are elevated, while bottom nests are at floor level and may be easier to access,&#8221; the website states.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><b>Skynest Launch date<\/b><b\/><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Skynest will be installed on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
