Android users are getting a taste of Gemini AI agents albeit in select countries.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

AI agents are coming everywhere and Google\u2019s next mission is to get them working on Android phones to order food or even hail a cab for you. The company has made the big reveal a few days back, which also tells you about the pace at which these AI expansions are moving in California. Google is making this available in beta for now, and limited to select regions and for select apps that offer these services. <\/span><\/p>\n

But this day was inevitable and Google is bringing it much sooner than most of us would have expected.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gemini AI Agents On Android<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google says Android users can summon Gemini AI to go in agentic mode and offer to work on their behalf on basic tasks, for starters. There are limits to how much Gemini can run and handle which is likely to be part of the beta phase, and hence only users in the US and Korea can truly access and experience Gemini AI for the time being.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s not all, you need to have some of the latest Pixel 10 series phones or the even more recently launched Samsung Galaxy S26 series devices to try out the AI agents in Android.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So which apps can show the power of AI agents via Gemini on Android? Google has listed out platforms like Starbucks, Uber, Instacart and Lyft among others in the US, while those in Korea can try it out with Kaemin and Kakao T on these mentioned devices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

AI Agents Going Rogue?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

AI agents are proving to be a boon for some but many are worried about the control you can give to these models. Google realises the scope for mistakes from these agents which is why it will allow people to track how these tasks are automated and also ensure there is a trigger for them to start an action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can also watch the status of the AI agent and stop it right away if the actions have gone out of the loop. The company also assures that the AI agent operates in a virtual side and it doesn\u2019t have access to all the data stored on the device.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We would be keen to see these AI agents in action but expect more details to be revealed at the Google I\/O 2026 which has been confirmed for May 19 at the California base once again. <\/span><\/p>\n
