WhatsApp group chats are used by millions and now the platform is offering an easier way to set up a new group and carry on from where you left off. WhatsApp says people have been requesting the option to have earlier chats in a group to help people stay up to date and giving them the convenience of reading the most recent chats. <\/span><\/p>\n

This does feel like a useful update for WhatsApp groups and allows you to transfer chats from one group to another with a single tap.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WhatsApp Group Message History: How It Works<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new Group message history feature is useful when you add a new person to the group. WhatsApp will show a send message option during the process, which can have chats for up to last 100 bubbles and not days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, in case you want to send the last 25, 50, 75 or 100 chats, WhatsApp gives you the option to choose. Once that is done, the person added to the group will see a new label which tells them about receiving message history from a certain date and time. <\/span><\/p>\n

The power to send message history is available with group admins as well as other members who add the new person. \u201cFor transparency, when message history is sent, everyone in the group is notified, with clear timestamps and sender information, and message history is visually distinct from regular messages.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WhatsApp says all the messages are end-to-end encrypted and when the chat history is sent, everyone in the group is notified with all the details in a timestamp. Group message history is gradually rolling out for all users and you should be getting it with a new update soon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WhatsApp has been looking to bring video calling support on the web version for a while and once again the platform is said to be testing the feature. The new update has been spotted with the WhatsApp web beta that runs on browsers like Chrome, Safari and Firefox among others.<\/span><\/p>\n

WhatsApp users have relied on the desktop app for Windows and macOS for calling support, but soon that is going to change. Video calling on Whatsapp web has been long awaited and we do hope the platform is finally close to making it happen. We have heard about its plans previously but this time does feel different.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
