More than three decades after Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was found dead at his Seattle home, a new forensic analysis is once again challenging the long-standing conclusion that he died by suicide.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cobain, 27, was discovered on April 8, 1994, in a greenhouse at his Lake Washington Boulevard property. At the time, the King County Medical Examiner and Seattle Police Department ruled his death a suicide from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head, and a note believed to be his was found nearby.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, a peer-reviewed forensic report by a private team of specialists, including independent researcher Michelle Wilkins and crime-scene expert Brian Burnett, now questions that finding. The group says discrepancies in autopsy records, blood patterns and the condition of the crime scene raise the possibility that the death was not self-inflicted.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the team, organ damage consistent with prolonged oxygen deprivation and the manner in which Cobain\u2019s shotgun and paraphernalia were positioned could point to a staged scene, not a traditional suicide. They also highlight inconsistencies with the suicide note\u2019s handwriting and argue that a heroin overdose may have incapacitated him before the fatal gunshot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Supporters of the new theory argue that these anomalies merit reopening the case, saying the physical evidence \u201cdoes not add up” under the official account.<\/span><\/p>\n

But authorities have rejected calls for a reinvestigation. The Seattle Police Department and the King County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office maintain that Cobain\u2019s death remains classified as a suicide, with officials saying no new evidence has been presented that would justify reopening the case.<\/span><\/p>\n

The renewed debate has reignited public interest, with many fans and commentators revisiting one of rock music\u2019s most tragic and controversial deaths.<\/span><\/p>\n
