Apple\u2019s iPhone 18 launch this year could see the company extend its support for SIM-free models to more regions. According to a new report, the brand could go beyond the iPhone Air version and make the iPhone 18 models in Europe fully eSIM supported, which is likely to help in other ways. <\/span><\/p>\n

The company has been looking at ways to make the iPhones carry a bigger battery pack without losing its sleekness but that might not hold for the regular iPhone models, which continue to be some of the heaviest and thickest in its category. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, going with eSIM support only, the iPhone 18 models could benefit from using the extra cleared up space to pack in a bigger unit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

eSIM All The Way?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Apple started the eSIM iPhone trend with the 14 series when it was announced for the US market and since then we have seen the iPhone Air version going global with this feature. Now, the iPhone 18 models offered with eSIM support could be heading to Europe later this year, only if the regulators don\u2019t find that breaking any of its tech rules that focuses on consumers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

eSIM adoption has been slower than most experts estimated but the onboarding process makes eSIM less appealing to many, especially those using Android phones. The iPhone 18 launch this year could see a lineup rejig, with the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max versions announced along with Apple\u2019s first foldable iPhone in the market. <\/span><\/p>\n

The company is tipped to reserve the iPhone 18 model for early 2027 when it might bring other devices for buyers and also allows them to keep the upgrade cycle moving.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apple could do something that other rival brands have not been able to pull off so far this year and that is linked to the iPhone 18 Pro launch price.<\/p>\n

According to analysts, the company is hoping that the ongoing memory shortage price hike doesn\u2019t ruin its plans and launch party for 2026 and here\u2019s what the reports have said. The new update hints that the iPhone 18 Pro could once again start at $1,099 while the iPhone 18 Pro Max costs $1,199 for the base variant in the US.<\/p>\n

The report is mostly basing its estimates on possible deals that Apple can make with Samsung and other suppliers, even though the new models are expected to come with notable upgrades.<\/p>\n
