Actress Trisha Krishnan\u2019s team has issued a statement after the Tamil Nadu BJP took a swipe at actor Vijay and referred to her in the process. The actress described the link as \u201cdistasteful”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recently, Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran took a jibe at Vijay, questioning his political inexperience. However, his remark referencing Trisha Krishnan, rumoured to be Vijay\u2019s lady love, triggered major outrage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Taking a swipe at Vijay, the Tamil Nadu BJP president reportedly said, \u201cVijay is very innocent, and he doesn\u2019t understand politics. He must come out of his nest first. Also, he must come out of Trisha\u2019s house to understand the ground-level situation in Tamil Nadu.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The comment drew sharp criticism from political leaders and fans alike, who accused him of making personal and \u201csexist” remarks. Many criticised the BJP leader for dragging the actress into political discourse and turning the debate personal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the instructions from Trisha Krishnan, her representative issued a communiqu\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

The statement said it was in reference to the distasteful comment about her which was circulating in the media. It added that she never expected such a distasteful and inappropriate remark to be made by a person holding a high stature in the State\u2019s political space.<\/span><\/p>\n

The statement made it clear that she is not affiliated with any political party and does not intend to be. It said she has always maintained a neutral stand when it comes to politics. It further stated that she wishes to be defined only by her craft and not by any alleged political alignment. It added that personal lives should never be made the subject of public commentary or discourse, and that persons holding high positions are expected to maintain responsibility and equanimity in public discourse.<\/span><\/p>\n

The actress requested that her name should not be drawn into matters that do not concern her.<\/span><\/p>\n
