Every tech company is building tools and bringing AI features that are becoming hard to ignore and most people have signed up for them. But there is a strong case for an alternative option in the market and this is where Mozilla plans to stand out from the popular peers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The company\u2019s Chrome rival browser Firefox will also cater to AI features for users (because why not) but unlike the bigger names, Firefox will also include an option where you can disable all the AI features from working for your account. Giving control to the users is a big way to show their privacy will be handled with care and Firefox is seemingly tempting you with this support.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Firefox AI Switch To Disable Features<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mozilla confirmed the new changes coming with the Firefox version 148 that will also feature a dedicated AI section where you will be given the controls of using the feature or not. The company also says you can manage all the features\/tools that are enabled for the account, or even disable all of them from one point.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Think of it as an all-purpose kill switch that will stop you and the AI features from working on the device, no questions asked. This way you cannot feed prompts or take suggestions from various AI tools in the Firefox browser. You will get all the features working within the browser but having the power to block all of them at once will allow more users to experiment and give AI a strong shot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mozilla says the Firefox 148 version will be rolling by February 24 for all the users with a new update.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is all exciting to see much AI being integrated into these platforms and some even giving you the option to block them. However, these AI features carry a big security risk, especially when the prompts that help you use these features become the weapon to attack your system and device. <\/span><\/p>\n

Prompt injections have been spotted in other AI browsers like Comet from Perplexity and researchers have tested the issue with Chrome powered by Gemini AI. People are also being shown more shiny toys like AI agents that can add items to cart and even make payment at checkout. <\/span><\/p>\n
