Brad Pitt’s Mother Jane Passes Away At 84.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Brad Pitt is grieving the loss of his beloved mother, Jane Pitt, who passed away at the age of 84. Jane, a retired school counselor, raised Brad and his siblings \u2013 Doug and Julie \u2013 in Springfield, Missouri, alongside their father, William Pitt, a former trucking company owner. Though the family kept a low profile, Jane occasionally stepped into the public eye to support her Oscar-winning son, attending red carpets including the 2012 Oscars and the 2014 premiere of Unbroken, directed by then-daughter-in-law Angelina Jolie.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, August 6, Brad\u2019s niece Sydney \u2014 Doug\u2019s daughter \u2014 shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. Calling Jane \u201cthe biggest heart,” she wrote, \u201cMy sweet Grammy, we were not ready for you to go yet but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint again makes it a tad easier.”<\/p>\n

Sydney added, \u201cShe could keep up with all 14 of us grandkids without missing a beat. There was no limit to the love she gave, and everyone who met her felt it. I don\u2019t know how we move forward without her.”<\/p>\n

Jane Pitt was not only a dedicated mother and grandmother but also a passionate supporter of children\u2019s health. In 2009, Brad and his siblings donated $1 million to open the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center in Missouri. The facility brought the region its first pediatric oncologist and hematologist, demonstrating the family\u2019s commitment to meaningful change.<\/p>\n

Even as recently as June 2025, Brad Pitt paid tribute to his mom during a press interview for his film F1. Speaking to Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie, he smiled and said, \u201cI gotta say hi to my mom because she watches you every morning. To Jane Pitt. Love you, Mom,” before blowing a kiss on camera.<\/p>\n

Jane\u2019s deep impact on her children\u2019s lives was evident in a 2018 video for WorldServe International. \u201cI\u2019m very proud of all my children,” she said. \u201cThey see a need and try to step in and fill it\u2026 It\u2019s an amazing thing.”<\/p>\n
