UP Minister Raghuraj Singh Walks Back ‘Anti-National’ Salman Khan Rant<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

Raghuraj Pratap Singh, a minister and MLA from Uttar Pradesh, has retracted his earlier remarks, calling actor Salman Khan \u201canti-national.” A day earlier, the minister had described the actor as \u201canti-national”, saying that he \u201cshould be hanged”.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, he claimed that he had mentioned Salman Khan by mistake and that the remarks were meant for Shah Rukh Khan.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Singh had levelled a series of allegations against Salman Khan, claiming that he \u201cloved Pakistan more than India” and that the actor should move there. He had also alleged that Salman Khan earns money in India and supports Muslims in Pakistan and Bangladesh.<\/p>\n

The UP minister had also called on people not to watch his movies.<\/p>\n

Now, Raghuraj Singh has stated that the journalist mentioned Salman Khan\u2019s name during the interaction, claiming he was actually referring to Shah Rukh Khan. Next, he said that Salman Khan is a good actor.<\/p>\n

\u201cSalman Khan is a good actor. I had said this for Shah Rukh Khan. Whenever Pakistan faces trouble, he gives Rs 265 crore and talks about mob lynching in India. Similarly, when Hindus are being killed in Bangladesh, Shah Rukh Khan does not speak. I took Shah Rukh Khan\u2019s name, but by mistake Salman Khan\u2019s name came out”, he said, as quoted by India Today. <\/em><\/p>\n

He further reiterated his stance, claiming, \u201cShah Rukh Khan is anti-national, there is no doubt about it.”<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Singh has been at the centre of a controversy. Previously, the Uttar Pradesh minister had said that those willing to avoid colours during Holi should wear a \u201ctarpaulin hijab”.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who wants to avoid colours during Holi should cover themselves with a tarpaulin, just like Muslim women wear hijabs. Men should also do the same to protect their caps and clothes. If they can\u2019t do this, they should stay at home,” Singh had said.<\/p>\n
