Amazon\u2019s Alexa+ AI assistant has got a limited release so far but the company is making a smart move by offering it via the Alexa website for more users. Amazon has mostly restricted the use of the AI-powered Alexa for select users in the US since its official launch but now people don\u2019t need its Echo speakers or Fire TV devices to access the latest version. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is an intriguing move by the company which is still looking to fine tune the AI assistant before making it available in other regions like India. We\u2019ve already seen Gemini and ChatGPT work through web browsers and Amazon taking this route feels quite logical.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alexa+ AI On Web But Who Can Use It?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The launch of Alexa.com brings the AI version of the assistant that can work without needing a compatible Amazon device. The company understands the need to make its AI model available to more users, across more platforms, so that Alexa AI can get better quicker.<\/span><\/p>\n

Having said that, Amazon continues to restrict who can access the web version of Alexa+ and it will only work if the company has offered the chance to get early access to the assistant, which is once again for US-only consumers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alexa+ On Web: What It Offers<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alexa+ wants to operate like any other AI chatbot in the market. This means, the web version should let you use the AI version in its best form. You can seek answers for queries, plan travel itinerary and even get some help with school work for your kids. Alexa already has a connected ecosystem and the AI avatar gets agentic abilities to let you control smart home devices, make some bookings on your behalf and a few more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a memory option to help Alexa remember your earlier conversations and continue from where you left the last time. And the company is also enabling you to get some groceries ordered from its own catalogue and even allow the AI to pay for the service.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amazon has even offered multimodal support for the Alexa AI model which allows you to upload images and even generate videos with the respective tools available in its armoury.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Amazon is still trying to find the best way to make Alexa work across its markets and after multiple delays and big AI exits, we hope to see the company manage to refine and deliver the best experience soon. <\/span><\/p>\n
