Congress leader Nana Patole on Wednesday sparked a political debate after he compared Rahul Gandhi to Lord Ram. Soon after Patole\u2019s analogy, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wasted no time and called it \u201csycophancy pro max”.<\/p>\n

While responding to a question about Rahul Gandhi not visiting the newly constructed Ram Temple in Ayodhya so far, Patole said that the senior Congress leader is \u201cdoing the work of Lord Ram”.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause Lord Ram\u2019s work was to ensure justice for the harassed and deprived \u2013 Rahul Gandhi is doing the same. He likes to do this service instead of doing a photo session at the Ram Temple,” the Congress leader said.<\/p>\n

The Congress leader, further in an indirect dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recalled that it was Rajiv Gandhi who was behind the opening of the lock at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.<\/p>\n

Patole\u2019s response came in reaction to the BJP, which has been hitting out at Rahul Gandhi for not visiting the Ram temple since its inauguration.<\/p>\n

BJP Hits Out At Patole<\/h4>\n

Following Patole\u2019s comparison of Rahul Gandhi and Lord Ram, BJP leaders hit out at the Congress leader, saying the party is \u201cinsulting Hindu faith”.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce again, the Congress Party has shown sycophancy pro max. The Congress Party says that Rahul Gandhi is like Lord Ram. Just recently, they said Sonia Gandhi was the reason why Christmas can be celebrated. What kind of sycophancy? And then you are insulting the Hindu faith?” BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla questioned.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the same Congress Party that says Ram Mandir should not be built. This is the same Congress Party that says Ram Mandir Prana Prathishtha is \u2018naach gaana\u2019. They keep attacking and insulting the Hindu faith,” he added.<\/p>\n
