OpenAI is entering new sides of AI that most even don\u2019t know how it will work and the company\u2019s chief is preparing for such instances in a unique way. Sam Altman has shared a hiring post for the position of head of preparedness, who is going to be entrusted with making everything at the company tick the right bones and keep OpenAI away from the controversial matters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Usually you would call it crisis management but in this case, Altman wants the head of this role to be aware of the surroundings and pre-empt events that could complicate matters for the AI tech giant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The AI Dangers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Altman sharing this hiring post also hints at the company having concerns about AI agents and the security risks like prompt injections that are only going to get dangerous in 2026. \u201cThis is a critical role at an important time; models are improving quickly and are now capable of many great things, but they are also starting to present some real challenges. <\/span><\/p>\n

The potential impact of models on mental health was something we saw a preview of in 2025; we are just now seeing models get so good at computer security they are beginning to find critical vulnerabilities,” as highlighted in the post by Altman.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The title could sound fancy but the main purpose of this head is going to fight off future cyber attackers, keep the OpenAI systems secure, and continue to evolve its AI models with safe and mental health of users in mind. <\/span><\/p>\n

Will It Work?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Altman is giving the best chance to hire a top expert for the role and the $555,555 package (plus equity) should go a long way in making it happen. Having said that, AI challenges are evident and the more users rely on the tech, the bigger attraction it becomes for bad actors, so no wonder Altman and Co. have made it clear that anybody applying for the job understands the stress and problems that come tagged along with the high pay.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google continues with its AI push and a new experimental feature is rolling out this week which lets you use an AI agent to act as your personal assistant. Google Labs is the platform which houses the new AI agent for productivity called \u2018CC\u2019 that can plan your day ahead and deliver a detailed schedule to your Gmail inbox every day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new AI agent has been built using Gemini models and it can connect to your Google Calendar, Drive and Gmail account to summarise the tasks, help you plan the day ahead and deliver updates as well.<\/span><\/p>\n
