On Friday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a> met with nearly 19 BJP MPs from Uttar Pradesh in his chambers in Parliament.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Prime Minister advised the MPs to focus strongly on the ground, connect with people, and interact more with beneficiaries of government schemes.<\/p>\n

While elaborating on the work required at the grassroots level, Prime Minister Modi emphasised that, like any other member of Parliament, he is a public servant elected to represent the people. He assured the members by saying, \u201cDo not worry about anything; I am strongly standing behind you (Main mazbooti se aapke piche khada hun).”<\/p>\n

He urged the members to keep people firmly in their minds and advised that the mode of communication needs to evolve with the times. There are plenty of methods to communicate using modern technology, and each leader should try to adapt as much as possible.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister also pointed out that the Congress party often laid the foundations for projects that remained incomplete or poorly executed. In contrast, his government, both at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh, ensured that every project was completed on time. He stressed that creating a positive impact in the minds of the people about the state\u2019s welfare and development work should be prioritised.<\/p>\n

This meeting was one of several held for leaders from Uttar Pradesh, the country\u2019s largest state with many members in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Prime Minister first met with 19 MPs, and in the next round, the remaining MPs will also be called. Friday\u2019s meeting included many members from western UP. Union ministers Jitin Prasada and BL Verma were among those present.<\/p>\n

This meeting comes at a significant time, as the state BJP leadership is about to undergo organisational changes. Just on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with outgoing state president Bhupendra Chaudhary. Uttar Pradesh, which gave a huge mandate to the BJP in both 2017 and 2022, is expected to go into elections in 2027.<\/p>\n
