IndiGo\u2019s flight operations continued to experience disruptions on Saturday (December 6), with major airports reporting cancellations through the morning as the airline worked to stabilise its network.<\/p>\n

At Mumbai Airport, 109 IndiGo flights were cancelled as of 9:00 am. The tally included 51 arrivals and 58 departures. Delhi\u2019s Indira Gandhi International Airport reported 37 cancelled departures and 49 cancelled arrivals.<\/p>\n

The airline has been dealing with a combination<\/a><\/p>\n

of crew shortages and operational challenges this week, resulting in widespread delays and cancellations and affecting passenger movement across the country.
Delhi Airport issued an advisory stating that IndiGo\u2019s operations were \u201csteadily resuming\u201d after significant disruptions a day earlier, when more than 1,000 flights were cancelled.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are glad to update that IndiGo flight operations are now steadily resuming and getting back to normalcy\u2026 Please check the status of your booking and flight before leaving from home,\u201d the airport said.<\/p>\n

The government on Friday (December 5) announced measures intended to support the stabilisation of IndiGo\u2019s operations following the large-scale disruptions. The steps aim to ease passenger movement during a period of heavy travel demand.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, SpiceJet expanded its schedule from Mumbai for December 6, adding additional departures on domestic and international routes. The airline said the move was intended to address increased demand following IndiGo\u2019s cancellations.<\/p>\n

The Indian Railways has also increased capacity on several routes to accommodate passenger demand. A total of 116 additional coaches have been deployed across 37 premium trains operating over 114 augmented trips.<\/p>\n

Southern Railway carried out the highest number of augmentations, followed by Northern Railway, Western Railway, East Central Railway, East Coast Railway, Eastern Railway and Northeast Frontier Railway. The additions include Chair Car, Sleeper, 3AC and 2AC coaches, depending on the route.<\/p>\n
