In a statement issued on December 5, ALPA India said the Ministry\u2019s decision\u2014communicated after a meeting with pilot bodies earlier in the day\u2014undermines the court-mandated requirement to enforce scientifically backed fatigue-mitigation standards.<\/p>\n
The association said holding the revised Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) on FDTL in abeyance \u201cplaces pilots and passengers at heightened risk by delaying essential fatigue protections.\u201d It urged the Ministry and the aviation regulator to implement the court\u2019s order \u201cin both letter and spirit\u201d and prioritise safety over commercial considerations.
The revised FDTL norms were expected to introduce tighter controls on duty hours and rest periods, aligning India\u2019s rules more closely with global fatigue-risk management practices.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi issued a passenger advisory stating that IndiGo flight operations are \u201csteadily resuming\u201d after a disruption that led to more than 1,000 flight cancellations.<\/p>\n
The airport said operations are \u201cgetting back to normalcy\u201d and advised passengers to verify their flight status before heading to the airport. \u201cWe are glad to update that IndiGo flight operations are now steadily resuming\u2026 Please check the status of your booking and flight before leaving from home,\u201d the advisory said.<\/p>\n
