Star India pacer Mohit Sharma has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, bringing the curtains down on a 14-year-long career, which began with a Ranji Trophy game against Gujarat in December 2011, in which he picked up two wickets.<\/p>\n

Mohit finishes with 44 first-class appearances, where he picked 127 wickets at an impressive economy of 2.75.<\/p>\n

Mohit, who played 26 ODIs and eight T20Is, shared an emotional message on Instagram, expressing gratitude to fans, teammates and officials who supported his journey from Haryana to the international stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday, with a full heart, I announce my retirement from all formats of cricket. From representing Haryana to wearing the <\/span>India<\/span> jersey and playing in the IPL, this journey has been nothing short of a blessing,” Mohit wrote on his Instagram post.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA very special <\/span>thanks<\/span> to the Haryana Cricket Association for being the backbone of my career. And my deepest gratitude to Anirudh Sir, whose constant guidance and belief in me shaped my path in ways words cannot express,” Mohit said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThanks<\/span>\u00a0to the <\/span>Bcci<\/span>, my coaches, my teammates, <\/span>IPL<\/span> franchises, support staff and all my friends for their love and support. Special thanks to my wife, who always handled my mood swings and anger and supported me through everything,” Mohit added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohit, who debuted for India in 2013, claimed 35 wickets in 26 ODIs and six wickets in eight T20Is. He featured in India\u2019s 2015 ODI World Cup team and later became a reliable death-over bowler for Chennai Super Kings under MS Dhoni.<\/p>\n

Besides CSK, Mohit played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Delhi Capitals, and Gujarat Titans as well. In 2023, he ended the season as the Titans\u2019 second-highest wicket-taker.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohit made his List A debut in February 2012 against Punjab. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in August 2013 and was awarded the Player of the Match for his figures of 10-3-26-2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
