Just two days after the two get together in the wake of a raging power tussle in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to visit his deputy DK Shivakumar\u2019s residence for breakfast on Tuesday. According to sources, no breakthrough is expected in today\u2019s breakfast meeting and is speculated to be a courtesy visit between the two leaders.<\/p>\n

Notably, this is Siddaramaiah\u2019s first-ever visit to Shivakumar\u2019s house after joining Congress in 2006. The Chief Minister\u00a0has made it clear that he will step aside only when the high command instructs him.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Shivakumar\u2019s family is preparing for breakfast and favourite dishes are being prepared, sources reported.<\/p>\n

Shivakumar on Monday confirmed that his breakfast meet with Siddaramaiah at the CM residence was to discuss and strengthen their collective efforts to deliver the promises made to Karnataka by the Congress party.<\/p>\n

Showcasing a united front amid rift speculations, Shivakumar took to X and wrote, \u201cThe CM and I continue to work together as a team. I have invited the Hon\u2019ble Chief Minister for breakfast tomorrow to discuss and strengthen our collective efforts to deliver on our promises to Karnataka.”<\/p>\n

In a similar breakfast meet held two days ago, Shivakumar visited the Chief Minister\u2019s residence in an attempt to break the logjam over the leadership row involving the two leaders. The meeting was convened by Siddaramaiah at the behest of the Congress high command.<\/p>\n

Following the Saturday meet, both leaders had publicly stated that \u201cthere won\u2019t be any confusion” and that \u201cthey are both working together”. Meanwhile, both leaders maintained that on the leadership issue, they would obey the high command\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

The development signalled towards Siddaramaiah\u2019s continuation as the Chief Minister for the second half of the tenure, which, according to the reports, was set to be handed over to Shivakumar.<\/p>\n

Shivakumar had earlier said, \u201cWe met under the pressure of the media (on November 29). There was no need for it.” Alleging that the media is alleging groupism, the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister said, \u201cYou are creating groups, DK group, Siddaramaiah group and others.”<\/p>\n

Asserting that he is not in any group, Shivakumar added, \u201cI have 140 people (MLAs) with me.”<\/p>\n

Shivakumar\u2019s brother and former Congress MP DK Suresh, who was in Delhi, reportedly came to Bengaluru on Monday to meet the Congress high command leaders. Speaking to the reporters, Suresh said he was not willing to share details of the travel, adding, \u201cIt was a personal visit.”<\/p>\n

Suresh emphasised that everything is happening smoothly. \u201cBreakfast meetings are taking place. Tomorrow there is also a breakfast meeting. So everything will come to a stage,” he was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n

The power tussle within Congress had intensified amid speculation about a change in Chief Minister in the state after the government reached the halfway mark of its five-year term on November 20.<\/p>\n
