Star India medium-pacer Jaydev Unadkat, on Sunday, November 30, went past Siddharth Kaul to become the highest wicket-taker in the history of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, after he picked one wicket in Saurashtra\u2019s game against Delhi at his home ground in Ahmedabad.<\/p>\n

Unadkat and Kaul had 120 wickets to their names each and with Delhi skipper Nitish Rana\u2019s (76) wicket on Sunday, the former went past Kaul.<\/p>\n

Kaul finished his career with 120 wickets in 87 matches, picked at an average of 18.25. Unadkat now has 121 wickets from 83 games, at an impressive economy of 6.79.<\/p>\n

Put in to bat first, Delhi posted a whopping 207\/4, riding on Yash Dhull\u2019s 30-ball 47, Rana\u2019s 76, Ayush Badoni\u2019s 25-ball 33, wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat\u2019s eight-ball 17 and Himmat Singh\u2019s six-ball 18.<\/p>\n

In the chase, Vishvaraj Jadeja and wicketkeeper Harvik Desai added 45 runs for the opening partnership before the latter was dismissed by Suyash Sharma.<\/p>\n

Saurashtra soon found themselves at 117\/4 before Parswaraj Rana and Ruchit Ahir added 39 runs for the fifth wicket. After the former had to retire hurt, Ahir and Luckyraj Vaghela added 41 runs for the sixth wicket, but they could manage only 197 in their 20 overs.<\/p>\n

Suyash finished with match-winning figures of 4-0-20-3.<\/p>\n

Hyderabad medium-pacer Milind is the only active player in the above list other than Unadkat.<\/p>\n

Notably, Unadkat\u2019s T20 debut had come in IPL 2010 and not in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He went for 32 runs in the 14 balls he bowled on his T20 debut.<\/p>\n

Unadkat has picked 250 wickets in 209 T20s, picked at an average of 23.64.<\/p>\n
