Young batter Ayush Mhatre scripted history in Mumbai\u2019s second Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy fixture against Vidarbha. The 18-year-old opener scored an unbeaten 110, helping Mumbai chase 193 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Mhatre\u2019s 53-ball stay saw him hitting 8 sixes and as many boundaries, striking at 207.55.<\/p>\n

Mahtre\u2019s century took him to the record books. His century made him the youngest man (18 years, 135 days) to get hundreds in first-class, List-A and T20S, bettering Rohit Sharma\u2019s record (19 years, 339 days). He also became the third-youngest to hit a men\u2019s T20 century, after Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vijay Zol.<\/p>\n

Mhatre\u2019s unbeaten 110 off 53 balls, along with India all-rounder Shivam Dube\u2019s 39 not out, propelled Mumbai to a decisive seven-wicket win over Vidarbha in their Elite Group A match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy on Friday.<\/p>\n

The defending champions overcame early setbacks, relying on Mhatre\u2019s innings to chase down the target of 193 with 13 balls remaining, finishing at 194\/3 in 17.5 overs at the Ekana Stadium. The 18-year-old Mhatre marked his maiden T20 century with eight sixes predominantly on the on-side.<\/p>\n

Mumbai faced early trouble as Darshan Nalkande dismissed Ajinkya Rahane (0) in the second over, and Hardik Tamore (1) soon after, leaving them at 21\/2.<\/p>\n

India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, showing signs of returning to form, scored a fluent 35 off 30 balls and shared an 88-run partnership for the third wicket with Mhatre to stabilize Mumbai\u2019s innings. Yash Thakur later dismissed Suryakumar, caught by Yash Rathod in the 12th over, bringing Dube to the crease.<\/p>\n

Dube contributed significantly with three sixes and three fours in his 39 not out off just 19 balls, sharing an 85-run stand with Mhatre in only 35 balls.<\/p>\n

Earlier, half-centuries from Atharva Taide (64) and Aman Mokhade (61) helped Vidarbha set a challenging total of 192 for nine. Openers Taide and Mokhade laid a strong foundation with a 115-run partnership in the first 10 overs but fell short of reaching 200.<\/p>\n

Taide scored 64 off 36 balls, hitting nine fours and a six, while Mokhade showcased his versatility with two sixes and seven fours in his 61 off 30 balls. However, Dube\u2019s 3\/31 and Sairaj Patil\u2019s 3\/33 enabled Mumbai to restrict Vidarbha to 192 for nine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
