Akhilesh Yadav questioned the government on the timing of the encounter of terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack.<\/h2>\n

Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday raised questions on the timing of the encounter of three terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam attack, and asked why their killing took place \u201conly yesterday”.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter all, why did the encounter take place only yesterday?” Akhilesh said in Lok Sabha during a debate on Operation Sindoor.<\/p>\n

His remarks came after the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched \u2018Operation Mahadev\u2019 and neutralised three terrorists \u2013 Suleman Shah, Afghan, and Jibran \u2013 in Srinagar on Monday. Their identities were confirmed and announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha<\/a> today.<\/p>\n

He detailed how it was ascertained that the slain terrorists were involved in the Pahalgam attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to share details about \u2018Operation Mahadev\u2019, which took place yesterday. In this operation, three terrorists, Suleiman, Jibran, and one other, Afghani, were neutralised in a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Jammu Police,” Amit Shah said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people who used to supply food to them were detained earlier. Once the bodies of these terrorists were brought to Srinagar, they were identified by those who were kept detained by our agencies,” he added.<\/p>\n

He said that \u2018Operation Mahadev\u2019 began on May 22, a month after the Pahalgam attack took place. \u201cA security meeting was held that very night, when the Intelligence Bureau (IB) received input about the presence of terrorists in Dachigam,” he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the operation conducted yesterday, all three terrorists responsible for killing innocent civilians were eliminated. From the attack site, cartridge cases were recovered, and their forensic test had already been conducted in advance. When the terrorists were killed yesterday, their rifles were recovered, and the cartridges found with them were from M9 American rifles. A ballistic comparison of the recovered rifles and shell casings confirmed that these same three weapons were used in the attack on our civilians,” he added.<\/p>\n
