According to Saxena, this initiative, launched by the Delhi Development Authority, is a significant step towards transforming Delhi into a vibrant city, equipped with enhanced recreational amenities and world-class infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The rides will be available for Delhi residents from Saturday onwards at Baansera, he said. It will soon be expanded to include Asita, Yamuna Sports Complex, and CWG Village Sports Complex.<\/p>\n
The hot air balloons<\/a> will be tethered to provide controlled and safe panoramic views of the riverfront and the surrounding cityscape.<\/p>\n
Each balloon ride will reportedly cost \u20b9<\/span> 3,000, plus taxes, per person for a 15-20-minute aerial experience. The operator will run two slots daily, one in the morning and another in the evening, depending on weather conditions. Capacity is limited to around four people per basket each trip.<\/p>\n
The DDA has hired a certified operator with previous experience in ballooning and aviation-related recreational services. The team will be responsible for launch operations, piloting the balloon, and overseeing safety inspections before each ascent.<\/p>\n
According to DDA officials, this initiative is part of a broader plan to activate the Yamuna riverfront into a vibrant recreational zone, promote ecotourism, and draw more people to its rebuilt riverfront parks.<\/p>\n
The DDA has already introduced cycling tracks, nature trails, and boating facilities in certain areas of the floodplain, and the addition of balloon rides<\/a> is expected to bring a new and highly visible attraction to the area.<\/p>\n
Baansera Park, spread over 10 hectares, is a bamboo-themed space created ahead of the G-20 Summit. It features bamboo varieties from across India, including Assam, and is divided into two zones, the Bamboo Recreation Area and the Bamboo Plantation Area.<\/p>\n
Delhi’s hot air balloon ride adventure kicks off on November 29, at Bansera Park, Sarai Kale Khan, offering breathtaking views of Akshardham Temple, Signature Bridge, and the Yamuna bank. The ride operates daily from 6 am to 6 pm, weather permitting, taking passengers up to 120 feet for a 15-20-minute ride, priced at \u20b9<\/span> 3,000 per person.<\/p>\n
