That is the population pattern. We can contest in 103 of the 126 seats in Assam. But it does not mean that we can\u2019t contest in other seats. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the BJP and its allies would likely contest 103 of the 126 seats in the upcoming Assam state assembly elections and asserted that the saffron camp led coalition will sweep the polls.<\/p>\n
While speaking to reporters after BJP\u2019s state core committee meeting in Guwahati on Friday, Sarma explained the seat-sharing formula, saying the contestable seats reflect the state\u2019s \u201cpopulation pattern,” which, according to him, naturally limits the BJP\u2019s winnable footprint.<\/p>\n
