Teenage Australian all-rounder Oliver Peake has revealed that Sam Konstas asked ace Indian batter Virat Kohli to show some respect when the latter shoulder-barged him during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which eventually became a massive firing point of the series.<\/p>\n

The Boxing Day Test between India and Australia featured a tense moment when <\/span>Konstas<\/span> confronted Kohli<\/a> after a shoulder-charge incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

The star Australian batter<\/span> dazzled on Test debut, counterattacking India\u2019s bowlers with a bold fifty that featured reverse and paddle sweeps even against ace pacer <\/span>Jasprit<\/span> Bumrah<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Konstas\u2019 fearless batting unsettled India and led Kohli to test the former\u2019s temperament with a shoulder barge.<\/span><\/p>\n

As tensions rose, the umpires and Australia\u2019s Usman Khawaja had to step in to defuse the situation. Peake, who was on ground duty during the Test, has now revealed what unfolded in the middle.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI remember running him gloves and him and <\/span>Uzie<\/span> out there was pretty cool. <\/span>Uzie<\/span> was a bit taken aback by the way he was going about it. He just looked so in the zone and so confident that he was looking fine out there,” Peake said while speaking on\u00a0The Grade Cricketer\u00a0<\/em>podcast.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great to watch as a fan and also as a mate. When Kohli shoulder-charged him, Sam said, \u2018I know you\u2019re a good player, but have some respect,” Peake said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The clash with Kohli wasn\u2019t the only flashpoint between <\/span>Konstas<\/span> and the Indian cricketers during the series. In the next Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, he found himself in a heated exchange with <\/span>Bumrah<\/span> during the final over of Day 1. <\/span><\/p>\n

With Khawaja on strike, <\/span>Konstas<\/span>\u2019 remarks drew a sharp reaction from the ace Indian pacer,<\/span> who removed the former with the very next delivery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
