A fresh political row broke out after Robert Vadra questioned the fairness of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 results, alleging that the polls were \u201cnot proper,” \u201cmanipulated,” and influenced by the Election Commission. <\/span><\/p>\n

The BJP, in a sharp rebuttal, dismissed Vadra\u2019s remarks as an attempt to deflect blame from the opposition\u2019s electoral failures.<\/span><\/p>\n

What BJP said?<\/h4>\n

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla led the counterattack, accusing Vadra of undermining democratic institutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a post on X, he said that after senior Congress leader P Chidambaram blamed the people of Bihar, Vadra was now questioning the mandate itself. BJP questioned why the Congress was repeatedly losing ground and yet refusing to take accountability. With Rahul Gandhi leading the party through 95 electoral defeats over the years, the BJP contended that blaming institutions had become Congress\u2019s default strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter Chidambaram blamed Bihar Ki Janta now Robert Vadra questions mandate. Says \u201cyeh dhang ka chunaav nahi tha- phir se honge to result paltega”. 95 elections have been lost by his relative Rahul Gandhi. Sadly they still blame EC,EVM,Janta & SIR ka Data. But not the Beta,” read Shehzad Poonawala\u2019s post on X.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Poonawalla argued that instead of introspecting, the Congress leadership continued to cast aspersions on the electoral process, thereby insulting the voters\u2019 verdict.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vadra demands re-election<\/h4>\n

Robert Vadra, speaking to the media, said the Bihar mandate reflected \u201cpublic dissatisfaction,” adding that the results would change if a fresh election was held. He claimed the Election Commission \u201cassisted” the ruling NDA, asserting that \u201cno one agrees with the results”.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his statement, Vadra said the nation was hungry for change, the youth were disillusioned, and a larger movement to \u201csave democracy” was underway. He insisted that \u201cthese elections were not proper” and called for a re-election.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe nation wants change. The youth are tired of the government\u2019s wrongdoing, and we will continue our fight for democracy. The people of Bihar are not happy with this mandate. Everything that happened was because of the Election Commission \u2013 the EC assisted, and no one agrees with these results. Rahul ji is meeting everyone, and the youth will stand with him as a movement to save democracy grows. These elections were not proper; there should be a re-election, and if that happens, the results will flip.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Bihar verdict<\/h4>\n

Vadra\u2019s comments came as the NDA returned to power with a sweeping mandate, securing 202 of the 243 seats. The BJP emerged as the single largest party with 89 seats, followed by JD(U) with 85 and LJP(RV) with 19. In contrast, the opposition Grand Alliance suffered a severe setback, with the RJD limited to 25 seats and Congress reduced to just six.<\/span><\/p>\n
