The NDA<\/a> cruised to a comfortable majority in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections<\/a>, winning a clear edge over the Mahagathbandhan in the final seat tally. Within this broader outcome emerged a notable subplot: the electoral fate of former IPS officers who had traded their uniforms for politics. <\/p>\n

Their entry had sparked curiosity across the state, and the results now offer a clear picture of how voters responded to these high-profile bureaucrats-turned-candidates.<\/p>\n

Here are the results for these ex-IPS officers:<\/p>\n

Former IPS Shivdeep Lande:<\/strong> Shivdeep Lande, a well-known officer from Bihar, resigned to contest as an Independent candidate from the Jamalpur Assembly seat in Munger district. Unfortunately, Lande did not fare well, losing significantly to JDU\u2019s Nachiketa. Lande secured approximately 14,000 votes, finishing in third place.<\/p>\n

Former IPS Anand Mishra:<\/strong> Anand Mishra contested from the Buxar Assembly seat on a BJP ticket. Mishra scored a decisive win over Congress nominee Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, popularly known as Munna Tiwari, securing a lead of 28,533 votes. He finished with 84,901 votes, while Tiwari trailed with 56,548.<\/p>\n

Former Tamil Nadu DGP Brij Kishore Dubey:<\/strong> IPS Kishore Dubey, known as BK Ravi, originally from Samastipur, ran from the Rosera seat in Samastipur on a Congress ticket. Ravi secured around 70,000 votes but finished second, with the winning BJP candidate, Birender Kumar, garnering more than 120,000 votes.<\/p>\n

Former Bihar Police DGP Rakesh Kumar Mishra:<\/strong> IPS Rakesh Kumar Mishra stood from the Darbhanga seat on Prashant Kishor\u2019s Jan Suraj Party ticket. Mishra finished third with just over 11,000 votes, while BJP\u2019s Sanjay Saraogi won with more than 97,000 votes.<\/p>\n

Former IPS Jai Prakash Singh:<\/strong> Lastly, Jai Prakash Singh contested from the Chhapra Assembly seat on a Jan Suraj Party ticket. Singh, from Saran district in Bihar, previously served in the Himachal Pradesh cadre and retired as ADG.<\/p>\n
