Bihar Polls 2025:<\/strong> The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) decimated the Mahagathbandhan, an alliance of Congress, RJD, and other parties, to retain power in Bihar. With the final tally placing the NDA at 202 seats and the Opposition alliance reduced to just 35, the mandate stands out as one of the most emphatic the state has witnessed in more than a decade.<\/p>\n

Bihar had registered a historic voter turnout of 67.13 percent to the 243-member assembly. A total of 7.45 crore voters were eligible to decide the electoral fate of 2,616 candidates.<\/p>\n

Even as the BJP made a spectacular show in elections with almost all of its 101 candidates registering massive wins, 12 of its candidates missed the bus. In four of these 12 seats, the margin of defeat for the BJP was less than a thousand votes. Ten seats had a margin of less than 10,000 votes. A few lost the polls by slender margins such as 30, according to the Election Commission of India.<\/p>\n

Of these 12 BJP losses, four came from Seemanchal, two from the Mithila-Koshi region, and the remaining six defeats were scattered among seats in Saran, Champaran, Magadh, and Tirhut divisions.<\/p>\n

Compared to other BJP candidates, Bina Devi\u2019s performance was below par as she secured the third position in Kochadhaman by bagging 44,858 votes. AIMIM\u2019s Md Sarwar Alam won the seat bagging 81,860 votes, followed by RJD\u2019s Mujahid Alam who got 58,839 votes.<\/p>\n

After an initial neck-and-neck fight in Raghopur, BJP\u2019s Satish Kumar lost to RJD\u2019s Tejashwi Yadav who was also the INDIA Bloc\u2019s CM candidate by a margin of 14,532 votes. Kumar polled 1,04,065 votes.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, only six of Congress\u2019 61 contestants managed to secure victory.<\/p>\n

The six Congress candidates who won are Surendra Prasad, Abhisekh Ranjan, Manoj Bishwas, Abidur Rehman, Md Qamrul Hoda and Manohar Prasad Singh.<\/p>\n
