Kiren Rijiju stated in Lok Sabha that China has not intruded into Indian territory or occupied more land in Arunachal Pradesh since the 1962 war, countering Akhilesh Yadav’s claims<\/h2>\n

Operation Sindoor Debate:<\/strong> Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday responded to Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav\u2019s claims on China\u2019s encroachments in Arunachal Pradesh, saying that Beijing has not intruded \u201ceven an inch” into Indian territory nor occupied any additional land since the 1962 war.<\/p>\n

While participating in a special three-day discussion in the Lok Sabha on \u201cIndia\u2019s strong, successful and decisive Operation Sindoor in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam”, the SP MP from Kannauj claimed that China is encroaching at the borders right under the government\u2019s nose but no strong retaliatory response have been given.<\/p>\n

He said that China is the \u2018monster\u2019 that will steal India\u2019s land.<\/p>\n

Soon, the Union Minister intervened to respond to the MP\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important to correct the record. Since 1962, China has not intruded even an inch into our territory nor occupied any additional land. This fact must be made clear,” Rijiju said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Akhilesh Yadav said that China has entered and occupied areas in the state I come from, I felt it was necessary to clarify. The area China currently holds in Arunachal was already under its control either before or during the 1962 war,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Parliament began the three-day debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor from Monday. The BJP and its allies hailed the Modi government for the decisive action and befitting reply given to Pakistan\u2019s terror-sponsoring forces, and criticised the opposition for raising doubts on the capabilities of the Indian armed forces.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the opposition parties came down heavily on the central government over alleged security lapses and US President Donald Trump\u2019s claim of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. They also questioned why security agencies are not able to nab the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack.<\/p>\n
