Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing them of encouraging illegal infiltration and neglecting Bihar\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

Addressing a public rally in Sasaram ahead of the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, Shah contrasted the opposition\u2019s alleged agenda with that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s government.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongress and RJD want to turn Bihar into an infiltration corridor, while Prime Minister Modi wants to turn it into an industrial corridor,” Shah said.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust a few days ago, Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Yadav\u2019s son initiated a \u2018Yatra\u2019 (Voter Adhikar Yatra). But what was the purpose of that yatra? They started it to protect the infiltrators,” Shah said, questioning the intent of the opposition campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cShould there be any place for infiltrators in Bihar? The infiltrators are snatching jobs from our youth, taking away the rations of our poor, and making the country unsafe,” he added.<\/p>\n

Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shah said, \u201cThey are saying vote chori is going on. Tell me, has anyone\u2019s vote actually been stolen? When Rahul talks about vote chori, he is talking about the votes of infiltrators that are being removed from the voter list.”<\/p>\n

Reiterating the government\u2019s stance on national security, the Home Minister declared, \u201cWe will throw every illegal migrant out. They are more interested in protecting Bangladeshi youth than our youth.”<\/p>\n

Shah further pledged that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Bihar would see rapid industrial development in the coming years. \u201cThey have created infiltrators \u2014 their vote bank. They want to build an infiltrator\u2019s corridor, while Narendra Modi wants to build an industrial corridor. In the next five years, we will work to make all of Bihar a developed state,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Home Minister\u2019s rally came soon after the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, which recorded a historic turnout of 65.08 per cent, the highest in the state\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

The second phase, covering 122 seats, will take place on November 11, with results to be declared on November 14.<\/p>\n
