Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Banaras railway station on November 8. The new Vande Bharat Express trains will operate on the Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes.<\/p>\n

The semi-high-speed trains will significantly reduce travel time between major stations, enhance regional mobility, promote tourism and support economic activity across the country, according to an official statement.<\/p>\n

The Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat will connect prominent cultural and religious destinations including Varanasi, Prayagraj and Chitrakoot, officials said.<\/p>\n

PM Modi arrived in Varanasi on November 7 for a two-day visit, and landed at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur by a special aircraft. He was received by State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister and District In-charge Suresh Khanna, Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar, and several party MLAs.

\nFrom the airport, his convoy proceeded by road to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) guest house in Bareka, where he will stayed overnight.<\/p>\n

Along the way, he was welcomed by locals, party workers, and officials at several locations.<\/p>\n

The Uttar Pradesh government, in a statement, said the prime minister was hailed en route with the chants of ‘Modi-Modi’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’.<\/p>\n

From the airport to Bareka, his convoy was showered with flowers and the route was illuminated with saffron and tricolour lights, the statement said.<\/p>\n

At the Bareka Guest House, Modi was received by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.\u00a0“The people of Kashi are extremely enthusiastic about the prime minister’s visit,” the party’s Kashi region president Dilip Patel said.<\/p>\n

According to Patel, Modi will hold a meeting this evening at the guest house with public representatives and booth workers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
