In what might come as a blockbuster trade, the Chennai Super Kings are trying to pitch a deal for star India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, who is all set to leave the Rajasthan Royals in search of greener pastures. According to a report in\u00a0Cricbuzz,\u00a0<\/em>the Samson trade discussion is back on Chennai\u2019s table.<\/p>\n

Former India captain MS Dhoni has been involved in CSK\u2019s planning for IPL 2026 and, ahead of the retention deadline on Saturday, November 15, is expected to hold discussions with key team members, including CEO Kasi Viswanathan, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and coach Stephen Fleming.<\/p>\n

As per the report, CSK and RR have reopened discussions over a potential trade involving Samson and it would not be surprising if a top CSK cricketer becomes part of the deal.<\/span><\/p>\n

The report further states that RR owner Manoj <\/span>Badale<\/span>, who arrived in Mumbai from London, is exploring all possibilities and has initiated talks with multiple teams, <\/span>including the Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and<\/span>\u00a0CSK.<\/span><\/p>\n

KKR, who have long been on the lookout for an Indian top-order batter capable of keeping wickets, see both Samson and KL Rahul as perfect fits. LSG\u2019s interest, however, comes as a surprise given their already solid batting lineup and the fact that their captain, Rishabh Pant, was signed for Rs <\/span>27 crore.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rahul\u2019s name came up for discussions for the swap with Samson, but Delhi were reluctant to let go of a cricketer who had been their key performer in IPL 2025 and brings a lot of brand value.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen whether LSG will consider releasing him after just one season.<\/span><\/p>\n

As per the report, a prominent Chennai Super Kings cricketer has been discussed as part of the trade and the team has already reached out to him to gauge his willingness to move to RR. <\/span><\/p>\n

The picture is expected to become clearer in the coming days.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
