Microsoft ended the Windows 10 support last month which has many people scrambling to get the free Windows 11 upgrade or pay for the older version at least for the next 12 months. But the company has faced a new bug that was warning people about Windows 10 support ending even after they have paid for the extended version of the operating system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many of these users are seeing the message \u201cYour version of Windows has reached the end of support,” which is obviously going to worry them, even if they have paid for the updates. Microsoft has admitted to the issue which seems to have been caused by a bug in the operating system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Windows Upgrade Bug<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The message is a concern, even if it is a bug because the company has not completely shut shop on Windows 10 for everyone. Microsoft says it doesn\u2019t matter if your system is sorted for the next few years, the message will still come and there\u2019s nothing you can do about it for now. This bug is affecting almost everyone still using the Windows 10 OS, both in the right and the forked way, including those with the enterprise versions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The intriguing part about this bug is that it actually makes people act on this message by asking them to update to the latest version. But it is advised that if people have already got the extended update, they should ignore the message.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And this is where the big problem lies, until Microsoft fixes the bug, which we hope does happen with an update, people will be confused about this message, and might end up clicking on something they don\u2019t even need to. Because if bad actors come to know about this issue, they can mimic this bug and get people to share details via malicious links that can be further damaging to many.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Microsoft seems to have planned a server-side fix for the bug and we really hope that all Windows 10 users affected by the message get it and make the issue go away before something bad happens. <\/span><\/p>\n
