World No. 1 T20I batter Abhishek Sharma will open the innings for India in the fourth T20I against Australia on Thursday, November 6. In the match scheduled to take place at Carrara Oval in Queensland, the left-handed batter from Punjab will have a chance to enter his name in the history books. If the left-handed batter manages to score at least 39 runs in less than 68 balls, then he will become the fastest batter in the world in terms of balls taken to score 1000 runs in T20Is.<\/p>\n

As of now, Abhishek, who made his T20I debut for India last year in July against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club, has 961 runs to his credit in 500 balls.<\/p>\n

The overall record of being the quickest batter in the world to score 1000 runs in T20Is is in the name of Australia\u2019s Tim David.<\/p>\n

In the third T20I played between India and Australia at Bellerive Oval in Hobart on November 2, David completed 1000 runs in T20Is for Australia during his 74-run knock from 38 balls. He reached the 1000-run mark in 569 balls.<\/p>\n

As of now, India\u2019s current T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, is in second place with 573 balls, and New Zealand\u2019s Finn Allen is in third place with 611 balls.<\/p>\n

In addition to that, Abhishek will also have a chance to become the fastest Indian batter in terms of matches as well to score 1000 runs in T20Is. As of now, the record is held by Virat Kohli. Kohli needed 27 innings of 29 T20I matches for India to score 1000 runs, and Abhishek has batted 26 times in 27 T20Is so far.<\/p>\n

The record of being the fastest batter to score 1000 runs in T20Is is in the name of former England batter Dawid Malan and the Czech Republic\u2019s Sabawoon Davizi. Both Malan and Davizi joined the 1000-run club in their 24th T20I match.<\/p>\n
