Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has backed Shubman Gill to find his rhythm across formats, calling the India captain \u201cridiculously talented” and capable of quickly adapting his game to different conditions.<\/p>\n

Gill, who\u2019s leading India in Tests and ODIs, has endured a quiet run in the ongoing white-ball series against Australia with scores of 10, 9 and 24 in the ODIs and 37, 5, and 15* in the T20Is so far.<\/p>\n

But Watson isn\u2019t worried.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt does take time (to make adjustments), and it\u2019s through trial and error that you really realise exactly what you need to do,” Watson said ahead of the fourth T20I on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Shubman is a ridiculously talented batter. He\u2019s got an amazing technique. It\u2019s not going to take him long at all to really navigate his way through the formats.”<\/p>\n

Watson admitted that switching between formats is never easy, but believes Gill\u2019s class will shine through once he settles into a rhythm.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt definitely is a challenge, and the more you do it, the better you get at making those little adjustments \u2014 in technique, game plan, and mindset \u2014 to become the best version of yourself every time,” he added.<\/p>\n

The former Aussie star also reserved glowing praise for Abhishek Sharma, India\u2019s explosive T20 opener, who\u2019s made waves with his fearless hitting.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is an absolute treat to watch. He\u2019s incredibly good, isn\u2019t he? So fearless,\u00a0 but with the skill to adapt to whatever\u2019s required,” Watson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been special to see his evolution over the last few years. He\u2019s got all the gears, all the shots against any bowler in any condition.”<\/p>\n

Abhishek, a key player in India\u2019s Asia Cup triumph, has impressed again against Australia with scores of 19, 68, and 25 so far.<\/p>\n
