Suryakumar Yadav has reached out to AB de Villiers with an emotional plea, seeking the SA legend\u2019s guidance to resurrect his ODI career and reignite his World Cup ambitions.<\/h2>\n

Suryakumar Yadav has sent a heartfelt message to one of his idols, AB de Villiers, pleading for guidance to help revive his fading ODI career and keep his World Cup dreams alive.<\/p>\n

Despite being hailed as India\u2019s \u201cMr. 360\u00b0”, Suryakumar\u2019s magic in the 50-over format has yet to click.<\/p>\n

Speaking to journalist Vimal Kumar<\/em> on YouTube, the Indian T20I captain admitted that he has struggled to balance his white-ball game across formats and hopes the great Protean de Villiers can show him the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I meet him soon, I would like to ask him how he managed to balance his T20I and ODI games,” Suryakumar said. \u201cI haven\u2019t been able to do so. I thought ODIs should be played like T20Is. I want to ask him what he did to be successful in both formats.”<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old, who last played an ODI in 2023, has featured in 37 matches, scoring 773 runs at an average of just 25. While his T20I exploits have earned him global acclaim, his ODI form remains a glaring weak spot.<\/p>\n

Even after a stellar IPL 2025 season, where he racked up over 600 runs, Suryakumar\u2019s performances in international cricket haven\u2019t mirrored that success. Since the World Cup 2023, he hasn\u2019t been recalled to India\u2019s ODI setup.<\/p>\n

When the interviewer assured him that de Villiers would receive his message, Suryakumar turned to the camera and made a direct plea.<\/p>\n

\u201cAB, if you are listening to this, please get in touch with me quickly. There are three or four important years ahead for me. I\u2019m very keen on playing ODI cricket. Please help me! I couldn\u2019t balance T20Is and ODIs,” SKY requested.<\/p>\n

Currently in Australia for the ongoing five-match T20I series, which remains tied at 1-1 as of now, SKY hopes to rediscover his blistering form and perhaps reignite his own 50-over journey before it\u2019s too late.<\/p>\n
