Windows 11 PCs have offered the update and shut down or restart option for users. Most of you would have figured the feature works the way it is supposed to but Microsoft has made a startling admission that the update and shutdown button was actually restarting the system. So, if you were wondering why the PC is on when you had shut down, the company has explained the issue, more like a glitch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Microsoft has not only admitted to the issue but also assured that the latest Windows 11 build is fixing it and making sure that the system shuts down when you command it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Windows 10 Started The Issue: Company Agrees Now<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Microsoft shipped the option with Windows 10 and it is shocking that the company, worth trillions in market value, managed to bring it with Windows 11 update as well. Every time you thought about installing the new version or an update, Microsoft gave you the option to update and shut down, instead the flaw in the feature meant the system was actually restarting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The company has not explained the reason for this mess, which has confused millions over the years and the new Windows 11 build will finally fix it altogether. <\/span><\/p>\n

The whole restart\/shut down to update was introduced so that the new patch, driver or update is enabled for the system. This could be a major security patch from Microsoft or any other vendor. People using office machines might have avoided this issue but the widespread rollout is needed so that people can start trusting features for what they say.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recently, Microsoft Azure faced a massive outage between October 29 and October 30 with many businesses in the US unable to run their operations for hours and waiting for the company to fix the issue. People were not able to access their workflow setup, authentication of tools and even the most important 365 admin center, which invariably got Microsoft in a huddle to get the systems back up and running at the earliest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The outage was tracked widely by platform Downdetector which saw a massive spike in reports from 9:23 PM IST on October 29 going well past the hour and waiting for the company to give some updates on the problem. <\/span><\/p>\n
