Indian women\u2019s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has said that her team might not have found themselves in the best position throughout the World Cup, but the atmosphere remained positive, adding that an outburst from coach Amol Muzumdar after the England defeat made the team sit up and fight back.<\/p>\n

India were far from favourites to reach the final, <\/span>let alone win the Women\u2019s World Cup <\/span>and those doubts almost came true when the hosts stumbled midway through the tournament, losing three straight matches to South Africa, Australia and England, leaving them on the verge of elimination. <\/span><\/p>\n

But after India\u2019s brilliant turnaround to claim their maiden world title, <\/span>Harmanpreet<\/span> revealed that it was <\/span>Muzumdar\u2019s<\/span> fiery dressing-room talk after the England defeat that ignited their revival.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe last month has been very interesting. Rarely do things go according to your plan and yet you stay so positive. We were really looking for this cup, <\/span>which was something special in our group,” Harmanpreet said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNot a single player said, \u2018What will we do now? <\/span>Everybody just thought, \u201cIt\u2019s okay.” After losing the England match, we were really heartbroken. We were about to win that match, but we collapsed,” Harmanpreet added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

India were on course till the 47th over before Deepti Sharma was dismissed for 50, leaving it to Sneh Rana and Amanjot Kaur to score 27 runs from the last three overs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had seen this in the past. That day, (Amol <\/span>Muzumdar<\/span>) Sir also said, \u2018You can\u2019t make the same mistakes again and again. You have to cross that line. After that day, a lot changed for us,” Harmanpreet said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time, we cannot go on repeating the same things. We had to come with a strong mind. That night changed a lot for us. It had an impact on everyone,” Harmanpreet added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
